About the circuit
The Catalunya circuit near Barcelona was inaugerated in 1991.
It hosted its first Formula 1 Grand Prix after two weeks of its inaugeration. Ever since then it has hosted the Spanish Grand Prix! This circuit has sweeping fast curves and 2 long straights along with 8 right-hand and 5 left-hand corners. Moreover, drivers come across two heavy brake areas where they dive down from the 6th gear to the 3rd gear.
This track is a F1 favorite on the calendar because of its swift winds across the track, over whelming crowds and is lined with one of Europe’s deep cultural cities. Many F1 teams prefer the Catalunya for winter testing but are often subject to criticism that they know the track too well to favor it.
